First time measuring your student for a costume?

READ OUR COSTUME GUIDE BELOW FOR HELP AND TIPS.

  1. Use a combination of all measurements (Bust, Waist, Hips, Girth, Inseam) to determine size.
  2. A leotard, undergarments, or a bathing suit should be worn when taking measurements.
  3. Make sure to account for growth, we generally recommend the following be added to the girth and inseam measurements (unless you feel that your child needs it in other measurements as well) to account for growth between now and the recital in June:
  • Ages 2-6 – Add 3 inches
  • Ages 7-10 – Add 2 inches
  • Ages 11-13 – Add 1 inch
  • Ages 14+ - Add ½ inch/no inches

*Girth is one of the most important measurements; It is our experience that when the chest and hip measurements are small and you don’t take into account the girth or inseam for length of legs and torso, the costume could come in too small or extremely short. If a child’s measurements are all over the chart the girth can help with choosing the right size, especially for outfits with a leotard base.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT COSTUME SIZING

The costume size charts will be found on the costume packet by day and time [click here to view]. If there are multiple pieces to your students costume such as pants/shirt/etc please include a separate size for each).

*When picking sizes, please be sure to add inches for growth (explained above) and choose your size based on the added inches.

**For size chart reference, PLEASE NOTE not all costumes will utilize the same size chart. If your child is in multiple classes please view each sizing chart, of classes your child is enrolled in, to get the correct size for each class/costume.
